ID Referral and Center Application

Jeffco’s GT Department identifies students as gifted at all of our district neighborhood, charter and option schools in all grades K-12 as per Colorado Department of Education (CDE) guidelines.  All students who are identified as gifted qualify for an Advanced Learning Plan (ALP).  Additionally, some students who qualify as gifted may be eligible for enrollment at one of our GT Center schools.  The application processes for GT identification and for GT Center school access are both similar, yet distinct.

We have 2 separate application processes: PLEASE APPLY ON ONLY ONE APPLICATION
Click here for GT Identification Referral: This form should be completed for students who are only seeking GT identification for an Advanced Learning Plan (ALP), and who are planning to remain at their current neighborhood, option or charter school, and not interested in attending a GT Center school. (This application is open year round)

Click here for the GT Center application for current 2nd graders (3rd graders in 2019-20). This application is only for current 2nd graders who have taken the district universal CogAT screening and who have reviewed these results. Submissions from other grade levels will not be accepted at this time, as the general application closed October 15. If your current 2nd grade child has a Percentile Rank at or above the 95th percentile on one or more batteries or on the composite score of the 2nd grade CogAT universal screener, you may want to consider applying for one of our GT Center programs. Placement in a GT Center program is not based on the CogAT 7 alone!

*Application for the Jeffco GT Center program for 3rd graders in 2019-20 (current 2nd graders) opens on Moday November 26, 2018 and closes on Sunday December 16, 2018 at 11:00pm.

For all application processes, parents will also need to complete the GT Parent Narrative, which is a separate form.

Both GT Identification Referral and GT Center Application decisions are based on a Body of Evidence, including both qualitative and quantitative data.  Please see our GT Identification & Assessments page for more information on the ID process in Jeffco.

If you have additional outside testing data (WISC IV, DAS, Stanford-Binet, other cognitive/IQ testing, etc..) you would like us to consider for the application, please send to:
