The Facts About Movement

-Active, fit students typically perform better academically, have better attendance, better concentration and fewer behavioral issues
-Physical Activity Grows new brain cells and new synapses
-Fitness improves mood, anxiety, stress levels, motivation, and brain volume
-Brain breaks have the most impact if done every 20 minutes through the day
-Physically fit vs. unfit children: Attention, working memory and processing speed are all more active in a fit brain
-Fitness and gender: Fitness increases performance in spatial reasoning for girls (math scores). Fitness increases reading and writing for males (one to two years growth in ONE year)
