Dutch Creek collaborates with Clyfford Still MuseumDutch Creek Elementary students, in collaboration with our experts from the Clyfford Still Museum and art, music, and classroom teachers, have collaborated to authenticate a literacy task which will culminate in a private evening gallery visit at the Clyfford Still Museum. This is a multi-visit partnership which will culminate on December 19 with a private art gallery visit for families where students will present and reflect on art and poetry they created for the performance task for their EL Education Literacy Unit. On Monday, November 5 from 1:00-1:30 p.m. the museum will be hosting an online unrolling of the final canvases in the collection (these have never been seen publicly before) and it will be broadcast on FacebookLive. Clyfford Still Museum be taking questions for our conservation and collections team, and it is an opportunity to see the process of how the canvases are stored and unrolled.

As part of this partnership, Clyfford Still Museum curators will send a couple of gallery teachers to help field questions between the students and the collections team online, and also to help create a chart to track students ideas and make some connections to our work.
