Technology is one tool for teaching and learning which equips students to apply and use content knowledge and essential skills through relevant, engaging, and real-world learning experiences. Technology opens up doors for students to create, share, collaborate, and publish in ways that are meaningful to them, using real-world tools with authentic audiences.  

Through 1:1 technology in Jeffco, classrooms teachers are equipped to support and challenge students with learning how to navigate and engage in a digital world appropriately. As a result, Jeffco students will be prepared to thrive in a digital world taking active roles in their communities and engage with issues of local, national, and global concern.

Benefits of Using a District Device vs. a Personal Device

  • District devices are configured with a mandatory web filtering tool that allows us to provide a safe and protected environment for students while on the internet at any location worldwide.
  • Support and repair for the district device will be available through the school
  • All district purchased devices will have a minimum of 4 years of useful life on purchase date
  • Only apps that have been vetted for instructional use will be available in the Android app store on district devices
  • Recommended instructional apps that have been vetted by the district will automatically be installed on district device
  • CMAS testing can only be performed on district devices
  • District devices have access to the internal wireless network and will experience better connectivity and performance.
  • District devices are enrolled in the district's Google management system which gives us the ability to lock the device if lost or stolen
  • Many district devices will include classroom management software called LanSchool. LanSchool allows the classroom teacher to monitor device activities during the day to keep students on task.
