Conversations with the Superintendent

Community conversation with Tracy Dorland

Our Community. Our Legacy.

A Conversation with Jeffco Superintendent Tracy Dorland

In 2023, Superintendent Tracy Dorland will be engaging in conversations with communities throughout Jeffco to discuss districtwide topics and those specific to each articulation area (Jeffco is divided into 17 articulation areas providing assigned schools for each neighborhood served as well as option and charter school choices). The superintendent will be joined by a co-host at each event.

These one-hour conversations are focused on family and community feedback and provide community members the opportunity to discuss important and current initiatives impacting Jeffco.

Conversations are open to the public. Families and community members are encouraged to attend the conversation within their articulation area.

Discussion topics from past conversations

Our community conversations have provided the space for many rich discussions. Past conversation themes include:

  • How can Jeffco Public Schools value and strengthen the uniqueness of our school communities through school meal menus, curriculum, teacher hiring and retainment?
  • How does Jeffco Public Schools ensure that students are safe at school from violence and bullying?
  • What training do teachers receive on ensuring safe learning environments in the classroom?
  • What can be done to ensure students are adequately prepared for college or career when they graduate?
  • What mental health supports are available to support Jeffco students and staff?
