A group of Blue Heron Elementary sixth-graders combined their love of animals and desire to make a difference in an exciting project. They created a drive called, “Helpers for Shelters” to collect needed items for local animal shelters. They did extensive research and had several meetings to make this happen. With encouragement from their teacher, parents, and principal, Blue Heron brought in 746 items to distribute to their shelters of choice. The donations will be split between Intermountain Humane Society, Life Is Better
Rescue, and Foothills Animal Shelter.
