In 1999, the Board of Education chose citizens from a group of applicants to serve on the District's Financial Oversight Committee (FOC). The primary function of the committee is to assist the Board of Education in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities by reviewing financial information, internal controls, ethics and assess business risk. After a lengthy community engagement process, the district has developed a list of suggested budget reductions developed by community members and staff.
Public hearings will be held in May before the Jeffco Board of Education. Budget adoption will be held in May or June.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides one-time federal funding to make strategic investments in our schools that will help build capacity for improving teaching and learning.
