Green Mountain High School Cross Country Celebrates 45 Years of Excellence

GMHS Cross CountryThe Green Mountain High School Cross Country program celebrated 45 years of excellence with a new tradition, the GMXC Hall of Fame. This inaugural event took place on August 18 and inducted three teams and seven individuals for their contributions to the program over the years. This new tradition was spearheaded by the two long-standing coaches, Clint Boston (a Dale Yost Teacher-Coach of the Year winner) and Dennis Shepherd (a Jeffco Hall of Fame coach). After coaching for 23 years, Boston felt the need to honor all the successes that have come from the program. The Cross Country Hall of Fame began as a conversation with Shepherd, the original GMXC coach.

Boston reflected, "We realized that between the two of us coaching, we have spanned the entire lifetime of Green Mountain Cross Country. We felt that spoke to the fortitude of the program, and wanted to find a way to honor athletes from inception to present."

More information is available on the Racin' Rams website. Congratulations to all the Green Mountain Cross Country inductees!
